Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS)

We offer independent and accurate quantity measurement service for marine fuels oil bunkers. We provide complete documentation for each survey to support any claims to quality disputes. Before the start of bunkering, we will measure / calculate the barge tanks and vessel tanks. The sampling equipment will be prepared and the sample container fixed in place.
Considering the present excessive bunker oil prices, we deem this type of survey absolutely necessary, in order to make sure that the quantities as mentioned on the Bunker Delivery Notes (BDN) are true and correct.
After bunkering we measure/calculate the contents of the cargo tanks of the delivering tank barge.
The difference between the contents before and after bunkering is the exact quantity of oil supplied to the sea going vessel and must be in line with the supplied quantity as mentioned on the BDN. We provide a detailed bunker survey report.

Intermediate (Spot) Surveys

221B or bunker detective surveys are carried out on behalf of the charters to find concealed (hidden) bunker fuel on board. In order to prevent the loss of bunker fuel, we will offer impartial, independent quantity measurement inspection services for marine fuel, providing a detailed bunker survey report highlighting and assuring the not declared fuel on board.
There are many ways to hide the bunkers: Hidden compartments, altered sounding pipe lengths, magic pipes, altered sounding tables, sounding tapes not properly calibrated and Surveyors just accepting the Masters ROB as stated.
Bunker detective surveys guarantee that fuel does not disappear after a charter period during off-hire survey, and that all fuel on board has been found and reported.
We offer independent quantity measurement inspection services and issue detailed reports.

On-Hire/Off-Hire Surveys

On-Hire Surveys / Off-Hire Surveys of vessels or marine structures undertaken either before the vessel or structure is delivered into a charter, or redelivered from a charter. The survey report include a detailed description of a vessel’s cargo spaces/deck areas structural condition, cargo spaces, bunkers on board, listing of the vessel’s statutory certificates.
The purpose of these On-Hire Surveys / Off-Hire Surveys is principally to determine the extent of damage, other than fair wear and tear, which may have occurred to the ship between two dates, usually those of the commencement and termination of charter. Whilst the determination of damage is the principle purpose of the two requisite reports, one being at the “on hire” survey and the other at the “off hire” survey.
